WHEDA had collaborated for years with other state agencies on the Transform Milwaukee Initiative, but in 2018, the decision was made to sunset the program. Retiring transformmilwaukee.com, WHEDA wanted to capture some of that content, and a sense of the impact the program had had over the years.
In collaboration with WHEDA's Creative Services Coordinator, I designed an infographic summarizing WHEDA's input into the program, product by product. WHEDA's color palette includes several bright, fun colors, so using blocks of these colors added visual weight to the infographic, making it stand out on the page.
Each color block will pulse colors when hovered. Additionally, the Transform Milwaukee header has animated waves when hovered, to highlight Milwaukee's waterfront. The WHEDA Total Investment block and the All Agencies Investment block each have a side to side "bounce" animation to highlight the totals.
WHEDA invested over $343 million in Transform Milwaukee over the years, which is a noteworthy accomplishment. Creating this page and infographic preserve that accomplishment, even after a dedicated Transform Milwaukee page was sunsetted. Due to the nature of the page (summarizing old content), it receives lower amounts of traffic, but still serves an important function, and benefits from microinteractions and animations.
